Nosgoth PW In Development
« on: July 30, 2010, 04:33:50 am »

We at Nosgoth, have recently lost one of our Builders to .... Motherly Interferance shall we say... Lol ''

As such, we have an opening for one or more Builders of good experience and dedication.

More about Nosgoth the NWN Module/Server in development.

Playable Factions: Human or Vampire (Later there will be Hyldan)
This Module is not going to be Forgotten Realms related at all. It takes place in the World of Nosgoth, a land which, as you may have guessed by the name, is quite Gothic. The sky is dark and grey during the days, and the nights are plain suicide if you are a lone human out in the wilds.

Humans and Vampires are locked in an eternal conflict, the Sarafan Order of Knights are once again patroling the streets of Meridian (Capital City of Nosgoth), and Vampires are being hunted and erradicated with the Glyph Magic at their Disposal.

Magic: Neverwinter Nights Magic is removed - Simply put, there is no Fireball Spell, Flame Arrow Spells, or anything. The Magic is going to be customized per player via playertools and chat commands.
Glyph Magic: For Humans
Dark Gifts: For Vampires

Nosgoth also Boasts a Wealth of Custom Music which conveys the TRUE sense of Gothic dark Realm that Nosgoth really is. These BMU's are freely available for players and builders alike from our forums, via our NRD (Nosgoth Resource Downloader)

Features: Vampires:
  • Telepathic Communication via 'The Whisper' - The Whisper Channel has actually been turned into something useful if you are a vampire.

  •  Vampiric Senses - When you log in, a macro is automatically added to your quickslots, allowing you to sense hidden objects of interest nearby, these are revealed by a Visual Effect that only Appears on your screen, if there are other players nearby, they WONT see it. Simulating a Perception effect.

  •  Spectral Realm - I think I am right when I say it, that our Nosgoth Server, when it goes live, will be the first server to utilize at least on Windows, a Full Functional Spectral Realm Death System. When you die, you are sent to a Spectral Realm Copy of the Area you are in, where the World is darker, filled with blue fog, and Spirits attack you.  If you are strong enough to kill 6 of the Spirits, you will be allowed to return to the place of your death via a portal which appears in the same location as your corpse.    - Spectral Realm in early alpha.

  • Vampire Tutorial - Currently about 90% Complete. Using Custom Voices which are downloadable as optional  content from our forum. Have a look at it yourself.

Human Features Soon to be made
  • Human City with lots of Shops, and Glyph Magic. Not much else can be said, because we havent started work on the Human Side yet.

  • Glyph Network - The city has ward gates at most entrances and district exits, allowing only NON-vampires to cross the thresholds. These wardgates are powered by Glyph Energy, and can be toggled on and off by the Glyph Relays. The relays opperate like a real Electrical Circuit, break the circuit, and all later Relays will be deactivated, along with any devices reliant on them. The Human City has the Sarafan Stronghold at its center, the Source of the Glyph energy, and possibly the most secure of locations in Meridian.

  • Newly Made features.

  • Thanks to the Guys at NWNX, for helping me out, I was able to FORCE hostility between human players and vampire players. Reason for this: Vampire Invisibility does not make you invisible, if you are neutral to another player. Meaning that the Vampire Invisibility would be such a waste if any ol human can see them. While you may be thinking... surely nwnscript allows for setting one player to dislike another, what I have managed to do, with the help and advice of the nwnx team, is to BLOCK player requests to toggle back to friendly status. Meaning a vampire cannot be friendly with a Human player.
Anyway, if you think you would like to Build for Nosgoth, feel free to register on our Forums, and get some more info.
