You have to be a lil more specific. What do you mean updating?

Ok server is running as a permanent world, lots of customisation, i need to swop the current version for one with further changes on it. The previous admin who used to add the latest server version is currently awol and i have never done it before

You will need access to the server. Generally either FTP, or remote desktop. What I do is shut down nwnserver. Rename the old version of the module to something else (e.g. modulename_backup1) in case I need to revert. And then upload the new version to the servers module folder. The name of the module needs to be the same as the old one was called (unless you update the ini file which specifies the module file name it is looking for). Once uploaded, restart NWNX or nwnserver, which ever you are using and your updated module should be live.
