RE: Need Help with Arbor Falls v13 SQLite

I've decided to try out Arbor Falls over LAN so that I can introduce my kids to PW play without having them go online and destroy someone else's server. I'd like to use the most current version - v13 SQLite, but the module won't load when you try to login as a player or DM. The module does load in NWServer. the module is setup to use NWNX. Do I need SQ Lite installed on the server machine to play?

Hello Pstemarie..

Arbor Falls_V13 as you already know the world uses NWNX. but you will not need SQL lite.

 

the NWNX2 is really needed to play this game becuase of the data it uses to store infomation in a database that is makes in your nwn folder in a db.file.

 

hopefully when you downloaded the module_v13 it came with nwnx2 folder with files that you copy across into the nwn folder.

 

if you still have problems you could use an older version V10 its not that far behind and still playable '>

 

also keep in mind it does take 30-40s to load up on the nwn_server '>

The module came with the NWNX2 files and loads fine in NWN Server. The issue is when a player or DM tries to login. The module hangs on the first loadscreen. I even tried loading the module in Single Player mode and got the same result. Version 10 loads fine. Not sure what the issue is at this point. I'm on Windows 8.1 so maybe its that?

glad to be back.

 

so from what I understand you are unable to log into the version as a DM *or* as a player? or just as a DM?

 

if its *both* my first guess (without talking to you a little to find out more)

my first guess would be.

 

1) are you sure you have your PORT FORWARDING setup correctly? even if you are playing across a LAN you still need to open up your router to accept the incoming connections.

 

if Players can log in but just not DM....hmmmm...

 

I may have to look into my scripts...I know I have some IF/Then running on startup to give certain DM's special abilities, like myself , borojb, and L0BSTER...

 

 

I am going to be making a pretty big comeback after all this time off, so I should be available more often now, so feel free to shoot me a message or reply here and we can see about getting you working,

 

I have successfully ported it over to several machines, so I know we can get it to work.

 

and as the above poster stated, you need NWNx2 to utilize all the database calls.
