Legends of Deathlands
« on: February 06, 2014, 10:19:10 pm »

Released in 2003 by Rathor and Lazarus, Deathlands is quite an old module. Back in the day, however, it ran on two 64-slot servers and both were almost jam-packed. Many people, amongst myself, hold dear memories to these days. In an effort to restore some of the good times we've had, I've decided to host the original version of Deathlands once more.

Deathlands, A Hack 'N Slash Experience
This module, left unchanged, still remains one of the most hardcore hack 'n slash experiences you'll ever get in Neverwinter Nights. There's story, sure, but not a very solid one. The bits and pieces of it only come second to character progression, skill improvements and acquiring better gear. You'll be put in a few tight spots and will most likely die quite a few times. It doesn't matter, though. It'll stop once you get the hang of the module, and once you've obtained some decent gear. Obviously, friends help. Playing Deathlands with a friend, or two, will greatly increase your survivability, and of course the fun you'll have.

Try it out. The server's just been put online. If you're alone, give it a try. Wait for others. Enjoy the hundreds of custom items, the gruesome battles, the unique environments and the visual effects. You won't be dissapointed!

Connecting
If you're using SkywingvL's server listing service (www.neverwinternights.info/nwncx.htm), you should be able to find the Legends of Deathlands server in the Action section. The server is named "BeerfishTV NWN Server" and the module's named "deathlands7".

Additional information
Though the website is rather outdated, you can still find some valuable information about Deathlands on this website: www.angelfire.com/oz/lodb/about.html. Take a careful look at the part about casting classes before you decide to roll a wizard, sorcerer, cleric, etc. '<img'>

Leave a little something in this topic if you remember Deathlands. I'm curious if there's anyone around that still does! Obviously, feel free to leave comments on the server or module as well. Have fun!

I find game okay by Scry.  I also try putting nwncx_gamespylogo.7z in NWN folder but still Internet games grey.  Maybe this go somewhere else?  Donna know but said on page you link that for finding games like Gamespy did just little zip was needed.

When you download nwncx-0.2.9.rar, you'll find installation instructions in the readme file. Hopefully that will allow you to install NWNCX correctly. '<img'>

Server was back up about 2 hrs later, me and friend join and play for half-hour. It crash again.  I think I wait for few days til gets fixed right cuz really hassle needimg to do all stuff over many times.  Think maybe should play yourself for some times else ppl will stop playing cuz not fun to lose levels and stuff from inventory.  We wonder why this happen when no problem for about a week we playing.

For ppl who try to connect to server, it up again and seem ok to me so far.  What I do is relog after important things happen so if crash my toon is saved.  So far I lose a special potion after reset but quest is in complete list on jurnal so must find party who still have potion.  Also lose level but that not too bad since can get back ok.  TYVM to admin who fix again.  '<img'>
