Help needed for a running project
« on: December 11, 2013, 02:35:32 pm »

                Dear fellow builders,

For my new project I'm in dire need of an extra pair of hands. I have taken
upon a project somewhere a year ago, but I'm starting to think that it is too
much for me alone to handle. There's building the module, modelling, animating,
area designing and extra research I need to do for this module, next to
scripting the libraries required to make everything work.

So to give a small heads-up on the project:
It's a complete 3D remake of the old Pokémon games, incl. all encounters,
moves, leveling formulas and everything that is going to be as close to the
real thing as possible. I have done over more than six months of research to
get my hands on all formulas, stats, calculations, moves etc. The idea is to
recreate the old version into a 3D-MMO with fully animated Pokémon. Eventually new
things will be added to further support the MMO aspect of the module, e.g.:
group challenges, TeamVsTeam or an actual League instead of five trainers after
each other)!

What I’m currently looking for is:
- 3DSMAX modeler(s), with a fair knowledge about animations. I have guides and
tutorials for this, incl. the usage for the NWN part of 3DSMAX;
- Area builder(s), bringing the 2D sprite files to life in a 3D NWN world with
minimal hak models. Working with the template objects/placeables to keep it as
close to the Gameboy version as possible;
- A game fan, who is willing to make a list of all the fightable trainers,
e.g.: what Pokémon they have, what moves they know and what level they are;
- Another great fan, that could do this for the wild encounters. I already have
the encounter changes/genders/Pokémon, but still need some further details on
this;
- A website with server and player specific information;
- Testers in a later phase, but this could also be in the form of a beta.

Currently I’m doing all of the above myself, and I'm at a state where players
can already explore Pallet Town, Route 1 and Viridian City, incl. encounter
bushes and jumping down ledges. I have also created a move-animation system
where each attack animation can be build-up from  database records,
e.g.:  water gun, acid-armor, acid and absorb are already created for
testing purposes. I already have Blastoise, Charmander, Squirtel, Scyther and
Bulbasaur running around as 3D models. I currently have all the models of the other  Pokémons, but without animations or connection to the nwn models (mdl files).

Please keep in mind that this will be a module build for fans, by fans.
Everything's done on a voluntary base.

P.S. For those interested in seeing some photos of the project imgur.com/a/sIpDX#0, I'm planning on adding more along the way.
