The Lands of Arda

               Hello all

The Lands of Arda returns after 7 years, making this its 10th year anniversary.

This will mean that the Lands of Arda module again can be found in the PW section in NWN game server room.

We
hope to see alot of the old players, but also hope that alot of new
players will take a look at this amazing module. We know our hak packs
are kinda huge (+2gb) but those haks are what make this world unique and
worth spending time on after all these years.I have managed to get a
hold of an old character vault, so there are a chance that you could
play one of our good old characters.

The original builders have
started expanding the old Lands of Arda module (800+ areas), making it
bigger, better and its deffnetly gonna be worth a look or a re-look.

               Arda Update: all code is now up to 1.69
was about 6 years in between editing....huge relearning curve.
Horses are in....arda is massive...horses fit well
basic stable system is in...more complicated may come down the road
new hakpak ready

               Arda goes live september 2nd

This is a amazing server.....this is not one you want to miss

A bit of back history on this PW_MOD .....

Arda was created in 2002 and building continued till I got to Rivendell and custom content was just beginning to come out....1st hak pak was added and that helped...cuz you can only build so much with things repeating.....before it gets old fast.

Moria was created( I have redone Moria 3 times....gonna redo it again).....then Mirkwood and Erebor, Edoras and the paths of the dead were added....then I built east to gondor and the dead marshs.....Mordor was created.......yet Baradur remained empty...southern gondor .....then south to the harad and Raj...........then the forest areas of Sara Bask and then south to tanturock and about here Arda went into the shadows.....the new areas I am creating are down here....they are for High level players and when finnished will lead you straight back to mordor and the Final Battle with Sauron......killing Sauron will let you ressurect and your character will become even tuffer for there is one challange left......a trip into the past to fight Morgoth himself......here yer Characters journey will end and you can either sail west to the undying lands or continue on playing.....I will guess here that it would take anyone player 6 months plus to even get to this stage and that a low ball estimate.

server vault had about 3500 players but we were still running on crap server hardware.....more haks and more building.... someone offered us a server....wow we can hold 20 people now....Arda was a massive hit and I kept building...and building and adding more haks......someone said horses and I was like right on HORSES!!!!....but they were ill conceived and never worked  '>....THEY DO NOW!!!!

Ask Online the server what happened here........Arda went into the shadows and stayed underground for 6 years, I was burned out...after creating 800+ areas and about 80 dungeon....I was burned out HARD and Arda faded from my mind.............well I am back with a vengence.

So please do try arda ....I have put alot of work into this beast and I will continue working on Arda .....the goal now is make it bigger and better....redo stuff I didnt like and get ready for The Hobbit- Part 1 to hit the theatres.

if you are a LOTR fan...this is your server!!!!

               Hey there!

I have just a few quick questions about your server.
1. What's the exp rate like? Fast or slow leveling?
2. Are there a lot of quests?
3. Is there any RP on this server?
4. Are there many players on this server?
5. Are there any rest restrictions or disabled feats?
6. Is there in insane death penalty (anything beyond standard)?

               well Hi there!

Here are a few answers for you.
1. The exp rate is stretched out more....lvls 30+ take allot longer to attain and then you can resurrect at lvl 40 and  start PC over again from 0 xp and +2 to every stat.
2. Slow lvling especially at the higher levels.
3. No.....(if you want to)........ it is more like a Diablo version of middle Earth...on a massive scale and is allso one of the reasons the xp is longer to get....so much to explore.
4. we are just starting the server up again after being away.... so the adds are to get peoples attention and get people playing on it. there has been a Arda server running on and off on a private server for the last 7 years but this is public and with the servers original builder....that would be me and I do a very good job.
5.rest restrictions ...YES....you need a camp kit to rest....no monsters can be around and not near a door....like on scale 5 feet.
6. no standard NwN death penalty.

               That does help a lot, thanks. You mentioned slow leveling at the end, but is it fast-ish at the beginning, or will level 5 take me days? Also, is there stuff to do alone if no one else is on? And you never mentioned if there are disabled feats.

               1 feat is disabled ..Devastating critical....lvl 5 wont take long to get...maybe 2 days and there is some resource collecting to make things but is more hack and slash.

at level 20-25 you are ready to enter moria....but the eastern side of the misty mountains will rip you a new a**h***

some of the little things added are.....bind stones.....at login you will be moved to your last location.

The Harad desert will suck your life away if you dont have water to drink....this will also happen in mordor as well.

and thats just a few....most of the weapons have custom models....Glamdring ("Foe-Hammer") as a example looks like it is straight from the movies...btw is Gandalfs sword and glows blue when orcsssss are about.

               The links don't work. I've played the crap out of Arda since it came out. I spent entire weeks devoted to The Lands of Arda. I really wish it all worked, as I've saved those NWN1 CD's for years in hope that the "studio who will not be named" would let up on you guys. How can I make an account on that site to download the hakpack? I am really looking forward to the next LoA!
