Any module for Co-OP play?
« on: July 07, 2011, 11:50:20 am »

I've been playing NWN with some friends for a while now and we've almost finished all the OCs (Vanilla, SoU and HotU) and I've been looking for a module we could try playing next. There is 3 of us, but modules designed for less is okay too.

What we're looking for is a module that has some if not a lot of rp and doesn't "force" min-maxing (like being forced to have 30+ AC by lvl 5 so mobs wont hit on every attack etc.). Preferably a longer module that starts at lvl 1 or similar and ends up sometime after 10 (10, 20, 30 anything is fine, just no 1-3 level adventures).

Module should also be multiplayer friendly (compare to nwn 2, where the OC is almost unplayable as dialog interrupts shopping and everyone is forced to stand by to watch while people talk. The general single player only design)

Forgotten realms, greyhawk or ravenloft (basically any real DnD derivate) setting is preferred. But exceptional modules on random worlds are okay too.

I've been looking at some modules from the vault but its hard to get a proper picture from some of the descriptions sometimes.

Any suggestions?

I'm not into closed MP adventuring but one fun module is the Pool of Radiance re-make:

I assume you've tested it? How is its power level? (over 9000 heh -.-) Do I have to make a scythe WM to be able to kill the mobs in it? Or would a finesse bard be able to do it? (sure multiple players compensates a bit, but sometimes not enough)

I see it ends at lvl 10 which is nice, FR check, Multiplayer check.

I'll have to check it out first then. Any other suggestions?

The Aielund Saga by Savant.  Custom setting, but you start at level 1 and go up to mid-thirties.  Don't have to be min-maxed as long as you play smart and not being min-maxed doesn't mean "Fighter with 16 cha and 16 int."

I've played through it a few times with my friends, I'd highly recommend it.  Just be warned that the first few levels especially can be rough if you're not careful and don't have a reasonably powerful melee type.
