And when after the zillionth time of your advocating ALL said we don't want to use it, were going to code for Windows, and Move forward from there, you had nothing to offer, and could not let it go. You still try to justify your lack of tact on his illness. Lower than Low. It will always be viewed as lower than low, no mater who you quote. The more you try to justify it, the worse you look. Give it up. As of now, the Admins from the group have what they need to keep their servers secure from greifers. They are not going to switch now to Linux, because the code for Windows works. its a moot point, so let it go. You lost, you couldn't sell the Linux. You get no commission for the hard sell.

To anyone else even remotely interested in returning to the topic of the post, I suggest we now ignore him.

Zillionth? Please exageration does NOTHING for your arguments.

I did not offer any new posts after the membership was opened to strangers without servers, save only answering direct questions on my prior threads.

I only offered actual solutions to problems offered, if one such solution included an OS change then so be it, it was still  a solution.

There was no 'lack of tack' - you act as if I knew the guy had cancer, for a fact I DID NOT - I do not know how or why the fellow would presume I did know, as the only time I ever visited his forum was when he invited me to join the group and share my knowledge and experience (assuming maybe he posted the fact of the nature of his illness there). I had noted he posted an 'I am ill' message in the bioware forums and for a fact, I sent him a general 'feel good' message at that time, but I had NO SPECIFICS on his illness, his message spoke only of going to hospital for a while. There therefore is NO REASON why I should be painted by you miscreants as having 'attacked' the guy. I offered a specific example of why the philospher in discussion was deprecated; science and reason yielded from 2000 years of thinking since his age.

You people keep sniping at me, yet you do not offer any actual evidence, only conjecture and your own third or fourth-hand impressions. This is utterly unwarranted.

As for those who would say 'nobody visits EK's server' you are wrong, we have players, and DMs and we gain more every time your windows servers go crashy, you should hear them complain when they come in from the windows BSOD storm.''

I neither care if anyone goes to your sever, but your rash use of generalization has earned you a retard award.

Yes - Linux offers more stability vs Windows - because it is more trimmed down, and has less of the baggage that windows gets shipped with.

But to turn around and say that EVERY windows server is buggy, and yours isnt, is just pure arrogance - I arrived to this topic late, and already formed an opinion about you.... your obnoxous.

It even sounds like your trying to take credit for your 'Stable' Linux server.
You didnt make the server.
Bioware made the Linux Server code - all you do is run it, and pray it doesnt crash.

'And your servers soooo great'

Absolutely untrue. Unfounded rumors and political sniping have grossly limited access to the lists. Favoritism, grudges among admins and flat out arbitrary bad ADMIN work are at the root of it. So sad some people operate under the premise that they are the ONLY person in the world with cancer. *shrugs*

Looks to me, and probably everyone else with a brain, that you are in fact belittling His sickness, And that you do know in fact he is sick. There is a lie by you. A rather poor excuse for being a human also. A fact from your own hand, and now you look even worse.
Shadows, my belief in anything is none of your concern. leave religion out of this discussion please.

He had posted a public message that he was ill and going to hospital, no further details. I sent him a private message with words of encouragement. Yeah, I guess that makes me look just awful that I would send him kindly sentiments huh? He even replied, thanking me. That is why I joined his  forum under the conditions offered, and did what I was asked (share my lore, which is linux based). Note, after being blocked from even logging into the forum (banned) I somehow started receiving a barrage of messages to my email from his forum (I had _NOT_ opted into receiving such). THIS is why I suggested he should stop sending me emails, I still have about a half dozen in a folder with full headers too.

I made no such 'belittling' you read into this whole thing the strangest things. I did not mock, nor belittle any illness nor any person. I suggested to a ROLE PLAYING AUDIENCE (who presumably can empathize with a character) that the slogan being debated would NOT wash with a cancer patient. Is that so hard to fathom? I mean, I guess someone unable to empathize might actually ask a cancer patient about Soph.'s slogan, and likely be met with the stance I took above that it is not a 'host of deities venting upon us lowly mortals' but simple biology + carcinagens under non-laboratory conditions. Either way, the point is as noted; Soph.'s philosopy/moral from that ancient greek play is inapplicable in the context under which it was presented; the modern world.

Be well. Game on.

So sad that some people operate under the premise that they are the only person in the world who is right.
Your post earlier, was without question, snarky, and wrong. Defending it again and again makes you look like an ass. Go ahead, I am sure there are a few more community members you can show your true nature to. You are right about one thing, It is a popularity contest, and your loosing.

Most people avoid certain topics that are guaranteed to ignite a flame war. Some things are best left untouched.

In answer to your earlier question, perhaps a page or 2 back...
I am mature enough to forgive you.
I am not stupid enough to trust you.

You are right except for the part of me doing it on purpose for the thrill of it. I have experienced harsh treatment back in the earlier days of these servers and it has led me to be relentless. In the real world you all would be surprised at how I really am. In that real world out there, I truly treat people the way I would want to be treated.

What makes you think interacting with someone online is any less real than face to face? It's true you may feel more freedom to say what you truly wish online due to the "anonymity" of the online dynamic, however that does not mean that you might not want to say those things to someone you were in the same room with. It's just that you feel more free to do so hiding behing your computer. And THAT is what makes you not ok in the least! You will be lucky if the only consequence you recieve from your actions is a ban from some video game servers.

It has nothing to do with hiding behind a computer game and being online that makes me appear a little insane.  It's all the others that hide behind their computers and say and do harsh things over time on nwn servers that has made me a bit crazy acting like being banned for my roleplay style or others from some other servers that would make fun of things that bothered me like saying they wanted to help torture Sylvia Likens and many other contributers that has made me turn sour and hurtful.  It has also added to my depression and drinking.  Now that I am banned by most servers I  have done a lot better.  My drinking isn't as bad and I feel a little calmer with less anxiety.

So not being able to log in to NWN online has been better for you. Perhaps you should not play at all. If choose to turn the game into those problems in your life, then it is obvious you can't handle playing it. Try something else. NWN is not the problem you make it out to be, Neither is MP, the people who play MP, or those that Admin PWs. The problem is how you choose to act after experiencing MP. That is why you were banned. Your depression, and Anxiety level that you choose feel is up to you. If something makes those feelings worse, why do it?
