Trick or Treat - The Halloween Thread for PW and Multiplayer happenings

               I have been wrapped up with moving lately, but I am going to try to push a module update before tonight's festivities (i.e. in a few hours) with some events for Higher Ground, revolving around a particular unsavory lich who has long desired to crush the Town of Ascension with an undead army. Enlisting the aid of Orcus, demon prince of the undead, he has pacted to his aid the forces capable of doing so--it's up to the adventurers of Higher Ground to stop him.



I'll update more with the details as I make the modifications--at the moment they will revolve around an event to disrupt demonic reinforcements by entering the Abyss (max-level characters), an event to reclaim certain items that the lich was using to empower his army (geared towards high-level characters), an assault on the lich's base of operations (geared towards mid-level characters) and a persistent town defense encounter (geared towards low-level characters or newcomers to the server). We'll see how much of that I can finish creating in the next 2-3 hours.

               Higher Ground is now running a small event at various level ranges. The event should last for a few days. For those new to the server, check out the Getting Started guide to get any files you may be missing.



A dank fog settles over the town of Ascension, blocking out all sunlight. A stirring in the graveyard and a rattling at the gate comes late in the hour of All Hallows' Eve. Suddenly, a crash is heard throughout town as the moans and wails of the undead permeate the air. The Town Watch rushes to the site only to be overrun by the hordes of undead. Captain Borian musters what forces he has to stop the shambling dead from overrunning the town, but he is far too occupied with the town's defense to determine what vile purpose lies behind this attack.



Stalwart adventurers hoping to offer assistance can find Captain Borian taking respite at the Rowan Tree in the center of town, where the militia has managed to drive back the undead for the time being.
