We're effectively a new world, we're medium-sized (and ever-growing, of course). We're a modest place, and rather quiet now, of course, as we just went live recently... but hopefully some new people coming around will liven things up! That's where you, the interested reader, comes in!
~A Little Introduction~
So what sets us apart from these other beautiful worlds? Well, we don't have the most elaborate systems in place, but we do have two creators that truly love the world and want to provide the most fun for our players, and to have as much fun ourselves! Our philosophy is to maintain the balance of keeping a believable world while simultaneously allowing virtually absolute freedom in your character's roleplay. What's that mean? Well, we're very open and accepting of unique stories and backgrounds, and we intend to involve players in major world-changing events on a regular basis. That means you can discover hidden lands, open new trade routes or even overthrow whole governments if you want! It's all based upon your roleplay. We LOVE art and storytelling, and we don't want to stifle your creativity (unless you wanna play god or something silly that doesn't make any sense, of course). So our goal is to really let player roleplay and characters shape a world that they exist in, and to feel that sense of accomplishment. Veteran players will be able to point at war memorials or ruins or flourishing towns and tell their friends the tales of how they made that possible.
~The Setting~
Empyrean Dreams is a custom setting, primarily written by myself with the assistance of my friend and co-creator (who primarily built the entire module, and truly created a gorgeous world in my opinion!). Our goal in creating this brand new custom setting was to blend the best of many worlds, and to try and include things we love from other settings, as well as to cook up some brand new ideas out of our own heads.
This differs significantly from Forgotten Realms on many aspects, most especially the divine, where we've removed the absolute nature of deities and replaced it with a more mysterious role in the world. We really feel that adds a lot more fun and intrigue to roleplay, as mortals are left to interpret the divine rather than having absolute proof or direct communication.
Despite the differences, however, we've endeavored to make sure the world isn't SO alien that it's uncomfortable to play in. We've taken a lot of inspiration from other settings, including Warhammer, Forgotten Realms, Sanctuary, the World of Raathi, the Elder Scrolls games, and of course general fantasy genres in general. I'm truly pleased with the outcome, and I hope you folks will enjoy it as well! Check our forums for info on lore.

~Notable Features~
Some standard things to note here, we're a low population world, so until some of you lovely people join us we can't promise a lot of player activity. Also, we're thoroughly a Roleplay world, though stylistically we (the creators) tend to lean a bit towards the more "social" end of the roleplay spectrum, as we love character writing, development, and interaction. We don't limit our players to that, though, and we do have plenty of enemies to fight and dungeons to crawl through!
-We have modified a LOT of spells, including custom summons, and buffed up spells that normally suck. (more info on those at our forums!)
-Rideable horses! (ooo, pretty)
-We currently have our xp rate in the medium range, and our level cap at 20 but that will be raised if we get enough epic adventurers to EARN that power!
-classes get special, simple skills. For example, rogues may execute a nasty kick to the pants for a short stun, or toss sand in an enemy's eyes to inflict brief blindness. Each class gets some minor special love

-Speaking of special love, specialist wizard variants get some of that goodness as well! (transmuters may shapeshift into many varied shapes, and things of that nature!)
-Happy, friendly staff! Yes, we are happy folks, and we just wanna have some fun with you all and roleplay! We do have rules and we will stick to our guns, but in general we're understanding and pretty comfortable to be around.
-The most important feature of all: You guys! We put so much power in the hands of players, because that's what we would want in a world. A world that reacts and changes because of your actions!
