SETTING

In a time nearly faded from memory, the Land of Nordock was ruled by Duke Nathaniel Fleomen. Benzor was a city entrenched with nobility; where great leaders came together, rose to glory and fell from grace. It held the old blood feuds between Elves, Orcs and Dwarves. Their weak alliance held together by the Human Duke against their common foe, The Drow of the Underdark deep beneath the farmer's fields and great structures.

It is not known exactly how long things remained this way, for many books and histories were lost in the times to come. It was a time of great strife and ruin known as the Demon Wars. Believed to be started by a foolhardy wizard who failed to summon a powerful demon under his control. He opened a doorway between worlds releasing great evil upon the lands which consumed all. Great cities fell and what seemed petty differences vanished. All races banded together, Human, Orc, Elf and even the Drow banded together to protect their world from an inevitable apocalypse. Even with all these forces fighting under one banner they narrowly escaped with their lives.

With the loss of the Fleomen bloodline during the wars, the noble Tucker family rose to power to help rebuild what was lost. The once city of Benzor little more than a village to contain the remaining survivors. The city of Brosna, once home to Government and Merchants had been completely conquered by the Demons, and it's taint never fully removed; in it's stead a small encampment of tents and huts along the shoreline not far north from it's original location arose the fort to be known as New Brosna. And a time of peace and re-growth fell across the land.

But in time, the alliances formed during the war wavered. Amongst some, the greed for power and control returned and consumed them. Duke Tucker struggle to retain peace in his city, so allied with the Knights of the Silver Shield. A holy order designed to enforce right and law within the walls of Benzor and it's surrounding lands. Thieves and murderers were outcast from the city and they established their own city to the far northwest known as Tobaro, the city of outcasts. While Benzor was returned to order, it lost many numbers in the great divide.

Tobaro not only became a home to the outcasts, but the remaining taint from the Demon Wars also began to walk the city streets. It became a city plagued with evil and greed with no ruler; but it grew quickly for those who lived there did not live without ambitions. Of these, one man of note stood from the rest. A true entrepreneur and businessman, Don Vinciero made order from Chaos. And while there is still no ruler in Tobaro today, the Don holds powerful sway amongst many.

With the cities divided, there was only one location between them. The Fort New Brosna. Both cities began to trade with the people of the Fort and it's economy flourished. It rose quickly to greatness, becoming a great port-city of commerce where all were welcomed to come in the name of business.

And this is the landscape of today... with a history of great divides and alliances, success and failures, we can only wait to see what tomorrow brings....

FEATURES AND DETAILS
Dawn of Nordock has a history as an established server and player community which goes back approximately 7 years.

While Dawn of Nordock retains names and a map similar to the original Nordock module, it is a complete custom module with over 300 playable areas, including a number of cities and quests.  The server design has some 'action' feel with mid-magic items, however has a history of holding a community of strong Roll Players.  This environment fosters an enjoyable experience when logged in with friends, or out adventuring on your own.  While RP is strongly encouraged and fostered, we also understand that friendships form outside of the In Character world and look forward building these friendships which can last years or a lifetime in the OOC world. The history of this community is built on fun above all else.  With outlandish Character's gracing our server's fields, we have always heralded the unique and entertaining.

Dawn uses a unique combination of Aman Shadar's Spawn system and Silicone Scout's loot system which allows for very dynamic control for Developers to create new experiences from one zone to the next and dynamic rewards.  The server has been graced with some very talented builders over the years which have helped create some stunning locations.  Finally, the module contains unique module specific rest, crafting(in development) and custom-henchmen systems.

I would like to mention at this time, that DoN has been down for several months and has undergone a major change in staff. We will be looking for people who wish to become part of the project in it's period of re-growth. Announcements will be made in this thread for any new-player events coming up.  Also, if you would like a tour of the module, more information or to become part of the new team, please don't hesitate to stop by the forums linked in the first post and we will be happy to meet you online.

Good to see this one back up and running. While I am currently unable to play NWN currently, I had a lot of fun at DoN, and wish all there the best!

Well, if you'd like stop by the forums briefly anyways... I have a thread there called 'Remember the good times..." and I'm encouraging as many old players as I can to at least stop in and say hi, if for nothing other than nostalgia's sake.
