This is a new one for me and hope that someone can suggest what the cause of the anomaly might be.

Description:
Where... While playing one of the stock unmodified NWN campaign modules.
In-game Activity... Purchased a monk robe with a rogue-ish non-monk character having UMD skill set at 11.  Not sure what the Appraise level was when purchased, but the robe was shown as usable (not red) in the shop. Equipped and used it for several hours without issue.  Next, a few days later loaded the save, robe was still usable (equipped), then at some point that session I saved again, then reloaded and the robe became unequipped and shows up unusable red now.  The UMD level is the same as before (@11).  Then I increased the CHA enough to reach the next UMD level (@16) and the robe is now usable again as long as I keep the UMD level up.  There appears to be no other weirdness occurring other than the robe that cannot be used at the former UMD level.

So what did the game do?  Recalculate the value of the robe during a reload? AFAIK no overrides were added, 2das changed or any other modifications applied to the default game files (and certainly not within the short time frame between loading saves).

This is not a game-stopper by any stretch, but I would like to understand if this is just a gliche or a predictable dynamic.  TIA for any enlightenment.

edit:
A party member cast Continual Flame on the robe to help me see the screen better. Drat!  Never figured that would affect the value. Should have picled a cheaper robe, I guess. '<img'>

This wouldn't be due to appraise. Appraise alters the item's cost from the store, but doesn't touch its value.
