Gestalt Cutscene System - Camera Focus
« on: October 17, 2012, 01:15:02 pm »

Does the camera always have to be centered on the PC? Is there a way to have it be centered on an NPC or an invisible object?

Thanks!

Camera is always centered on the PC.

If you want to make it look like the PC remains in a particular spot and have the camera jump away, yet still see the PC, you have to make a copy of the PC where the PC is standing, then jump the PC to the new location so the camera will follow, CutsceneInvis the PC and leave the COPY.

It's more work than it's worth, personally.

FP!

Exactly. In all my years of NWN building I've only ever done it once; there's a video here if you want to see what it looks like. It was a lot of work and an enormous pain to get it right. The only reason I finished it is because I had that picture of how the scene should look stuck in my head and couldn't bring myself to let it go.
