pick the brain of a scripter

               im very limited on the scripting i can do, i can more or less read over a script and get the gist of what it is doing though i dont know how the script is structured or built.

what i would like is to ask for scripts without being a pain in the arse. if there is one or more of you out there that can help, that would be excelent!

I'm building a module (just tinkering really) and i want certian things the way i want them but i cant get them to do what i want. I'm using lilac soul scripter (great tool to have).

is there a tutorial on basic scripting for NWN?  I would really like to learn to do it on my own, everyone has to start some where.

Most of this community loves questions ;-) However, a good place to start (must have references) is the Lexicon and the Omnibus. 

On the Lexicon is the Lyceum which has both a scripting primer and several tutorials.  I'd actually start there.  In fact, I wish I'd noticed the Lyceum when I first started :-( Would have made things a lot easieer ;-/

And the Omnibus is simply a fantastic reference. Gotta have it.

               I'll second Rolo's recommendations. You should feel free to use this thread for script requests, or to start a new thread for each, if you want to do more than one at a time. Spam isn't much of an issue these days, so I doubt anyone would mind you posting 4 or 5 script request threads at a go.

               You can check out the tutorial linked in my sig below. Written with NWN2 in mind, but almost all of it applies to NWN as well, they use the same scripting language. Axe Murderer has a *lot* of insightful and rich content (including a great essay on the mechanics of custom content) on the Vault.
Lightfoot is finicky and grumpy <evades a quick paw> , but he honestly knows his stuff. <just not how to spell ;-P >
FunkySwerve has just about the best handle on MP servers and pushing the limits of the engine.
ShadoOow is also a good and prolific scripter spearheading the unofficial 1.70 patch.  He can get pretty excited sometimes and his flamewars are either hilarious or annoying, depending on my frame of mind :-)

I would take exception to that,  But for the fact that it is all true.   Well the part about me knowing "my stuff" my be a little off.  It seems like every time I answer one of my own questions 5 more pop up about the same subject.

Anyway,  thanks for the complement.   If It was one that is.  <snickers>

Nah. You know how to script and you know how to script *elegantly* :-) Which I am good enough to recognise.

I'm serious about few things, but this is one of them.
When I see how *hard* you guys try to help people who you will have no other contact with but here (iow, nothing to gain from the behavior) I really appreciate what kind characters you are (*not* a misspelling... I did *not* mean "what kind *of* characters"... and I *do* mean you <we, boss> are all characters =)
