max-XP Per Day

               Hi Guys,

i am searching a Script what caps the XP a Char kann get per day by killing something. And it should not forget the standings while the Server resets.
Any Ideas?

               In order to make custom XP systems you first have to turn the standard system off.  That is done simply by setting the xp scale for the module to zero.  

after that I would suggest searching the vault for a custom xp system, then modifing it to only give the amount of xp per day that you want.  

Now comes the big question of what you mean by day.   Do you mean 24 real hours or 24 game hours.   Either way in order to have this take effect over server resets you will also have to install a persistant time system.  There is no way via nwscript to find the real world time. ( At leas not without NWNx installed).    

I myself think you are going to open a can of worms tring to put a system like this in place however.  I fear you will run off a good many players with such a system.   if you are talking about a real 24 hour day. You are just about garenteed to run of the players that like to play 24/7.  And thay are the players that you want to keep around the most.  The players that are going to be more apt to stay are the ones that only play rearly for short time periods.  Unless you have a tight groop that all agree to this kind of change, I think it is going to bite you in the ... well you know.

               Thanks Lightfoot for the technical advice.

I Know bout the Problems with such an idea. But know we get 5 XP for every Kill...that is horrible.
So with another XP-System you can give more XP and could slow down the 24/7-Slaves a bit.
And the normal Player has a Change too get some XP without going to be a 24/7.

               If your object in limiting XP per day is to prevent players from "harvesting" a particular enemy or area for XP, you might be interested in using a scaled XP system.

Download the Home Town (classic Diablo) single-player module from this web site:

The XP system in there automatically reduces the amount of XP gained by the player(s) based on the XP already gained.

With this system, players don't have to level up in order to trigger a reduction in XP.  The system uses the nominal level based on the player's XP rather than on the actual level the player has taken.  This makes it cheat-proof against players not taking levels.

If the player's nominal level goes high enough, they eventually get no XP from the kills.

The whole idea of course is to force players to move on to tougher monsters in order to get decent XP.
