Crafting = Components gathered to make weak magic items, am I correct?
I got tired of making items or using lame systems, so I made mundane treasure item's, that looked really good (Think CEP), and made the Enchanting Gem System, which allows PCs to find these rare gems in treasures, which they could use to apply magical properties to their items.
(I know you may think there is no RP in this, however...)
For many years, Dwarves have used gems & scrolls to pray to their god to help them craft tremendously powerful magical items.... (Remember Bruenor and the Warhammer?)
Elves use gems in MANY of their magical items...
Look at the gems as infused with magical powers, which are properly forged or crafted into an item to give the item special power...(Properties)
Ok, so it's not the best RP you ever heard of, but the system isn't uber, unless of course you want it to be, because it offers the largest selection of properties on the market currently:
A) You the DM CHOOSE what gems (Properties) are available!
You can control exactly how powerful the enchantments are..(Changed in Script)
C) You control how many enchantments are allowed on each PC Item being Enchanted..
(Otherwise the gem will fail, tellling the PC the item is too powerful)
Furthermore, you don't have to like make a gob of magical items...
It took me 4 weeks to make that system, refine it, and deliver it to the community, it completely blows socketed items away, and if you want to make it specific to certain items only (You can add acheck to see if the tagname of the item = one of the items you have selected to be allowed for enchanting), simple enough.
I've even heard people talk about this subject multiple times, so why let such a great system pass your module by?
This is the updated Enchanting Gem System (By Itself) - Note: I'm not trying to win votes or promote my work (take it or leave it!)
