Sittable chair problem
« on: November 03, 2015, 11:45:37 pm »

I've made an egyptian style chair that is sittable but weird stuff happens when I rotate it in toolbox. (See piccies). Anyone got a fix?

I found this in a post using the omnibus (searched for "sitting wrong direction")

"Sitting works by having the PC play the sitting animation at

the model's center (0,0,0) and faces the closer of the two use nodes of the

placeable. If the use01 node is missing however, the engine has you

defaulting to facing east, as was the case for say, the stool (before it

was fixed) or some of the invisible placeables people use for sitting."

This looks like what you are hitting. There was more in there and other threads as well.

Yeah, looks like you need to add a use dummy to your chair - add a dummy object with the name <suffix>_pwk_use01 (where <suffix> is the three letter suffix for your chair) slightly in front of the chair and link it to the PWK dummy. Anyone who sits in the chair should now do so facing the dummy.

Hope this helps!

Fixed it. My use dummy was dead centre & must have been confusing it. ''  Moved in front of model and works a treat. Thanks. Got any ideas for more Egypt style furniture? post a piccie & I'll give a bash.
