Sandstorm and two smaller questions.
« on: April 07, 2015, 08:43:58 pm »

Hello guys, I'm working on Dark Sun campaign for a group of my friends (kudos to all CCC guys who made that really awesome stuff that allowed me to even get the idea!) and so far I didn't had much problem with finding the stuff to expand my hakpaks, but sadly there are things that I cannot find on the new vault, so I decided to ask you lot about it, maybe someone will have a solution/replacement.

1. The most important one - Sandstorm, I would really like to expose my players to a visual sandstorm, sadly I couldn't find any fitting vfx or in-game weather conditions. Any ideas?

2. Half Giants - none of my players is going to roll one, but it would be good to have dynamic ones for NPC variety. I found http://neverwinterva...mic-player-race these and http://neverwinterva...kpak/half-ogres but they seem to be rather buggy with 1.69 + ProjectQ, which I'm using as my base. Any suggestions what should I do to make either of those work for me?

3. Sea of Silt - least important, thought it would be cool to show them at least "a shoreline", but I'd hate to use water for that. Any ideas on a tileset which could "simulate" the silt for me?

Thanks for keeping NWN alive, guys! If someone can aid me with those small issues, I would be really grateful.

In addition to sandstorm placeables, I use the following weather effects in the desert tileset:

   Spoiler

Skybox 80 refers to Dem_Stormy_Dusk in the CEP, but any moody skybox will do.

For the Sea of Silt, you could use placeable floors over water. Models are available for mud, ooze etc in CEP and elsewhere. The water level should be constant, so the placeables should disappear neatly under the land. As always, they need to be static, to avoid fading at a distance from the player. The standard Bioware desert has walkable water, so unless you use invisible walls, players will be able to wade in the silt.
