Hello, I'm new here, and as most of newbies I had a question.

I'm building a hakpak for my custom NWN adventure, and I've managed to figure out how to edit appearances, placeables and mdls to give them the number I want.

My question is... how do I do this with armor bodyparts? Like, how can I edit what number will get the chest piece in aurora?

I checked those files with Notepad ++ and it doesn't show any indicator.

Second part of the question would be, how many spots and in what number range can I add new armor parts?

Because I know there is a limit for the heads (and some are reserved for the helmets).

I would be grateful for an quick answer. '<img'>

Thanks!

Aurora sorts the body parts by the ACBONUS column so the numbers in the toolset do not match those in the 2da file.  For all parts except chest you can fix that by filling in all the ACBONUS entries with the line number since that value does not mean anything there. But you can't do that for chests since that defines the AC of the armor built with that chest part. CEP 2.6 did this.

You can have 0 -255 in those parts_*.2da files.

Also, when changing body part model numbers to merge them into existing or larger collections, you'll need to change:

1) the model file part number

2) the plt file part number (to match the model)

3) all references to the old number (and old bitmap) in the model file itself to reference the new one

4) the plt icon file part number

Body parts are kind of a pain to work with, but allow for so much customization of PCs and NPCs.

Thanks for both your responses, and yeah - I figured that those are kinda pain, seeing how the heads can make me nuts about making a mistake in replacing the palette refs. '<img'>
