Trouble with Creature Model Portraits in Hak
« on: February 16, 2015, 03:29:09 pm »

I'm trying to add a number of new creature models to our hak. However, whenever I do so (add the dds and/or mdl files) a number of portraits 'break' for already existing models in the hak. Either the portrait shows up black, or else it takes one of the tiny or small tga files and uses that for the model in the toolset.

I've gone so far as to test this by *only* adding the model resources and NOT touching the appearance or portrait 2das in the hak, which seems to confirm that simply adding more resources to the hak is breaking how existing creature models display their portrait. But what is even stranger - a little over half of the hak models we had before get their portrait screwed up, while others still show up fine.

Has anyone run into this sort of problem before? Any suggestions or ideas on how to stop this from occurring when I add new stuff to the hak?

EDIT: Nevermind. Figured out how to fix it, although I still don't understand what caused it.
