Broken Promise - Not My Fault Gov' - Now Fixed & uploaded
« on: September 22, 2014, 01:34:37 am »

I promised to upload the audio pack that I've been working on, by the 22nd Sep.

Well I've been trying. A few days ago I tried to ftp the file to the new vault and found out you do not include the FTP. part of the address that is mentioned in the relevant thread on there. Got so much transferred and the new vaults server decided my connection was too slow and it timed out. Seeing as the 7z file I am trying to transfer is 353 megs in size and I have a strict monthly data allowance I came up with a cunning plan.

I first took an hour and half to upload the file to my public folder on dropbox. I then tried to create a project on the new vault. Used the transfer from url function of add new file. It seems to work but it gets to 100% and the hangs (message under progress bar changes from transferring... to Starting Transfer...). Have tried this twice now on different days with the same result.

10 minutes ago I tried ftp again and now I get the error message after the 1st quarter meg that it can't create the file.

Software used for ftp is filezilla (updated on the day I first tried to upload). Location I've tried to ftp to, is the folder called dropbox on the new vault.

So I currently have a big lump sitting in my dropbox and not on the new vault I promised it would be and where I actually want it to be(I want download count). Add to this that none of the go to people for the new vault seem to be around here atm due to RL commitments. Suggestions?

fragment the zip and then upload in parts, or zip sections into 15 meg sections and upload them individually. Later, have someone with vault drive access merge the files back together on that end.

Nice thought but... I originally did that with map mats on the old vault. Even though there were only 2 parts some people didn't get it and only downloaded the 1st part. Now at 15 megs a section on a 353 meg file that is 24 parts... Would you go to the trouble of downloading that many parts on something that could be rubbish?

Thanks anyway.

PM me the dropbox link. I'll download it and upload to the vault, then give you ownership of the project.
