Tilesets Light & Flame Mod
« on: April 28, 2014, 08:25:42 pm »

Hi all,

Just wanted to show you something I've been working on that was driven by my work on the Ship Interior of late.

The link below is to the video, please be patient and watch till the end because it's a before and after type of

video so you will be shown regular vanilla NWN content along with the Mod.

Yeah '<img'>  the point is to make the flame VFX to be more visualy dramatic so when multiple flames are placed to mimic a fire like so, it gives the sens of urgency and/or that something actually terrible happened. Note that in the video I make use of an extra flame placeable I created to be bigger then "Large Flame"... basicaly, "Huge Flame" '<img'>

If I may make a suggestion: make your larger "urgent" flame more chaotic, and more red and choking looking. Make it look worse and horrible. Make it noisy and bothersome.

Something like this color, but bigger (please ignore the choppiness, I was having some issues and forgot to remove my custom speed 2da's)

Please mute. it is hideous. sorry

So here are the files. The ZIP Contains all modified files/models I worked with for the demo. Not all files out of the games resources that need to be edited for this to work have been edited nor any custom content obviously. The extra Flame model I added is in there with a vanilla placeables.2da with the necessary line included. All you have to do is go in the toolset and create a custom placeable and choose the biggest flame of the 4 flames available in the appearance section of the placeable properties window. A clean module without haks is recommended. Oh yeah, drop the files in the override.

Test it out, play with it, tweek it, Enjoy! '<img'>

BTW, I do not know if anyone has ever fixed the smoke animation on the forest tile "ttf01_t13_01" but is anyone wants the fixed version that works with vanilla NWN, let me know.

Fyi, the tile is the one iin the video with the campfire/pot.

It came to my attention that the usable torch in the package was not edited, thus it is broken for the package I posted previously.

It is now fix in the package and here is a link of the fixed torch for those who are interested.

Downlaod Here

Is it possibile to fix che bug (4 little flames instead of one) it generates on many other flame emitters (braziers, CEP torches and many other placeables)?
