Request: CEP neck model Shadow fix
« on: December 14, 2013, 08:07:17 pm »

               Hello Custom Content Creators,

i come to you with a little request: the CEP (2.4) neck model #123 has broken shadows, but my character really likes using it. is there a kind soul, that knows how to fix these and would be willing to do this for me?
i know how to put it in cep2_custom so the visuals are at least fixed on my end :-D, but i don't know how to fix the model itself, myself.

for a little motivational background, here is my character:
http://www.file-uplo...s_0002.jpg.html

he is a Veteran Adventurer Figher/Rogue, that likes to wear heavy armor. he keeps a trusty mace by his side, and protects himself with a towershield. aside from this, he tries to stay mobile and versatile however. several parts of his heavy armor have been dropped or exachnged for leather and chain, to enhance movement and help him with picking locks, disabling traps and other more shady manual tasks. he's left handed, as you may tell from the picture. also, he keeps usefull potions, lockpicks and other equipment at hand with an assortment of pouches. one of those is his shoulder pouch; said broken #123 neck part from cep.

please help him, shadows stretching all over the area really are no help when trying to stay somewhat undetected.

thank you very much

Try to export it (eg. with the NWNexplorer169) and run it through Cleanmodels351 (from OldMansBeard). Sometimes this fixes issues with shadows.

thank you for the tip. unfortunatelly this didn't work out, and the shadow issues were still there. but after reading through the documentation of cleanmodel, and since the models ended up in ascii, i made a leap and changed the line "shadow 1" to "shadow 0". lo and behold, the shadows are now simply disabled for the shoulder bag. this is much much better, than the shadow artefacts from before. so thank you very much for getting me into the right direction.
