Great work with these salamanders! A question; in the final version you will add a fire effect that surrounds the body of the creature? I think that this sort of thing is nearly the most important part of the looks of these critters!

Anyway, good work! '<img'>

Thanks.  I'm really liking how these guys are turning out so far.

The average salamander and noble salamander actually have 8-10 fire emitters going from their shoulders down the length of their tails.  They're the same as the ones I use for my cinder trolls...there to get the "fire creature" point across, but not blindingly obscuring things like regular NWN flame emitters tend to do.  The flames are more visible in darker areas and from angles that arent' looking directly at the front of the critters.

Salamanders are finished, compiled, and ready to go.  You can get them here.

Thanks for the impetus and input on these.  Not something I really had need of myself, but now that they're made, these guys will be going into my PW's haks so I can add them to at least one volcanic area I've got.

Stylesetter, I'll email you a copy of the uncompiled models so that you can play around with them and do your frost salamander re-texture.

Edit: adding pic

Hi Amethyst!

I am going to add some sort of fire plane node to one of my unfinished modules (an area like the one found in Temple of Elemental Evil) and, thinking of fire critters to fill it, I remembered this post and your work on the salamander creature.

You finished the salamanders some time ago? In that case, you released them?

Thanks!

Edit: Ah! Yes, you release them, I didn`t look the previous posts, sorry!! ''

didnt project Q make a convincing looking Remorhaz? i could be mistaken by someone else like babba_yaga

No, but I can take a look around and see what I can improve upon...

Found this in the CPP - I've increased the poly count and extended the neck height. Still need to add some details and redo the texture. It also needs some animation work - I don't think the front legs should pull up off the ground. Overall, it'll be serviceable when done.
