Is there one of these on either vault?
« on: October 12, 2013, 10:44:54 pm »

I was just wondering if anyone knows of one of the following weapons somewhere it can be downloaded for free.

If not would someone who is not an overworked magician with a raven friend (he's already got a shed-load of work on his plate (such a bad metaphor ('^_^'))), be willing to make one please?

as far as i can tell no wheel lock pistols were designed and due to neverwinter content designed soley around the forgotten realms, i found it rather hard to find just *a* working pistol.

a few creators have come up creative ideas mostly involving scripts but so far my only suggestion would be:

Flintlock Firearms
by: Richard Cranium
nwvault.ign.com/View.php

and my favorite
Black Powder Guns
by: Gylfi Gangler
nwvault.ign.com/View.php

both works includes a variation of the crossbow, and work with ther own sounds and effects. Gylfi on the other hand offers two firing mechanisms, the Match-lock and a Flintlock in Pistol and Musket (arquebusier) form.

it isnt exactly a Wheel lock mechanism, but i use them in my module as early theme gunpowder where they explode in your face by chance when you re load 'B)'

One of the reasons why I asked is that I could swear that I have seen that shape in a model gun used in an NwN module that I played ages ago. I also find it interesting that your second reference provides both matchlock and flintlock pistols as the missing link between them is the wheel-lock pistol - it being an evolution of the former and a precursor of the latter.

its probably very true that it was done, i havent counted that out. its more than likely made as a cc for a specific module and then taken off.

and yes wheel-locks were revolutionary! they were the transitions between the old mechanisms and the newer flintlocks which made firing (or using a trigger mechanism) much better.

perhaps gylfi was aware of this but didnt want to have three different systems? either way its the only ones that i recommend, since they are fully working (sounds, effects, features) on the vault.

there is also this as an intresting flintlock Pistol
by Jupp
nwvault.ign.com/View.php

but thats about all could be found (as seperate models). if a wheel lock exists, its more than likely to be buried with a compiled hack ':wizard:'

on an intresting note. On the link, it is mentioned by a few comments that this flintlock was called a wheel lock but only towards spelljammer modules. perhaps thats a good place to start
