4 ships
« on: August 26, 2012, 09:45:05 pm »

If anyone is stuck for something to make, I think I may have an idea or four. Having used the vault's search facility and come away empty handed I would like to suggest the following as 4 possible suggestions
  • Mari Celeste - An eerily abandoned ship with no obvious damage apart from the rigging flapping in the wind.
  • Flying Dutchman - Obvious ancient wethered timbers and shredded sails mark this as a cursed ship.
  • The full ghost ship - such a wreck it shouldn't still be floating let alone sailing against the wind with the tatters that are all that remain of its sails.
  • The iron galleon - (just a reskin job) The entire ship (including the sails, any flags, ropes etc) is made of iron.
All surrounded by deep water.

Well it was just a thought.

Might be great additions to the rolling seas hak. I could see great ship to ship battles

The iron galleon is based on a very rare small module from the eighties. The reason that it is rare is that Micheal Moorcock wrote the story behind it specifically for DnD as opposed to any of Chaosium's output. The other 3 were to me such obvious add-ons even for the original tilesets that I can't think why nobody ever made any of them.

You're right, Tarot, it is odd noone used them. I have no CC skills and never had enough drive to complete a module, myself. I did, however, start something with a ghost ship, once; it was a fun idea and would be even better today with all the great new CC. I'll have to cross my fingers and hope somebody talented sees this thread. <hint, hint '<img'>>

That hope is why I made the original post in this thread.
