Marble Elven Interiors. What Place Does It Have?
« on: June 28, 2012, 09:45:34 pm »

               Excuse me?
This is just a quick question to ask about the Marble Elven Interiors once made by "Helvene" and
"Lord Rosenkrantz."

"Marble Elven Interiors"

My question is - was this tileset ever placed in the CEP or CTP?

I'm kinda playing around with this tileset right now, just building a few rooms here and there, and it suddenly struck me to try and found out if it's in any current versions of the CEP or CTP.

Having looked around, it doesnt seem to appear in any current versions, and I'm fairly certain, though not 100% sure that it has been in any older versions either. But I have a picture of sorts in the back of my mind, that I might have used it in the toolset along with the CEP/CTP at some point in time. But then again..... maybe not since I'm not 100% sure.

If it hasn't been added to any past or present versions, then why not? :-/
Seems like a really nice elven tileset to me.
Does anyone know if  it will it ever be added in future?

I also rather like the elven placeables they made too.
So I have been playing around with those, just placing some of them around and seeing
what they look like.'B)'

CTP does have an Elven Interior set (exterior one as well), but this one (how'd I ever miss it?) seems to be based on the Bioware Crypt set while the CTP one used the Drow Interior as its base. The CEP also has an Elven Interior option, though not as nice or versatile as the CTP one. Personally, I like this one you've linked of all the choices best.

You would be better served using this release of that tileset
http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=6963

especially when you consider the other awesome stuff in that package.

The marble elven interiors are of course based on the original ruins tileset made by Bioware, and I think the elven tileset in the CEP which you referred to, is based on the original drow set, also made by Bioware. It's not really one of my favourites, and I much prefer the marble interior set, but the CEP one isn't too bad for what it's worth.

There is also a wooden elven interior tileset in there too which I quite like.
I also like the elven exterior tileset too, and prefer it when there is the included castle tile too.

I think I may have seen that one in the past.
It includes a rather nice set of rocky mountains, (with the option to make a stone castle)
some swampy hut interiors, and of course the marble elven interiors which I spoke of in the first place.

It's quite a nice hak there, but the hut interiors, although very nicely made and top quality too, are not really a tileset I like to play in..... not to my taste really.
But I quite like the rocky mountains, (although a rather complicated looking tileset)
and of course the marble interiors. '<img'>

You don't need to use all of those together. The important thing is that the elven tileset from that download has tons of fixes in it that are not in the download you linked to above.

My recommendation are to only use the parts you want that Rosenkrantz posted on that page. If you don't like the huts and swamps, don't use them. They are each separate haks. Its a nicely organized package he put together there.

I'm having a big problem with something now that I cannot seem to sort out by myself, even though I've tried.'<img'>

henesua, or anyone out there..... can someone help me out here please?
I'll try to explain my issue.

What I'm having a problem with, is doors in elven tilesets overriding each
other, leaving doors in one tilieset not showing up, or showing up as
completly blank. '<img'>

I downloaded, and have been using the elven interior tileset which henesua pointed me a link to
above and installed it in my toolset. (placing the hak file, first in my hak folder)

But also, I'm trying to use that tileset along with an elven exterior, like this one for e.g
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7581
It seems like the best option, since it has been updated to be compatible with NWN 1.69 which is what I have too.
But these 2 tilesets are not compatible with each other, hence the problem of invisible doors in 1 tileset whichever I place on top. (for e.g. elven "interior" placed on top, invisible doors in the elven "exterior" placed underneath) :-/

I know this is an issue in the file, "doortypes 2da"
I also know how to edit 2da files..... well "placeables 2da," as I've
grown a lot more used to those than any other 2da used in NWN.

Any other 2da files just look completely alienated to me, and I have no
clue which lines to edit, as I have absolutely no idea which lines of
text in the 2da that belong to the hak that has been made! :-/

Is there anyone out there please, who can make these 2 tileset haks compatible with each other so I can use them at ease without having to worry about missing doors? :-/

Also, I'm using CEP 2.4. So I'm hoping to have them both compatible with this version of the CEP too, if possible.

I would appreciate if anyone could help me out here please?'B)'

Okay....... a number of hours later and I think I have solved the problem I had above.
I was a bit scared to try this after the other options I've tried and failed so.....

I had originally tried out the ctp elven exterior hak from here Here along with the elven interior hak which "henesua" linked to above. This didn't work for me at first because of missing doors and also missing textures on a large plaza too. (it was partly white, hence missing  texture) :-/

But later on, what I realized that I didn't think of originally..... was to download and include the "ctp_common hak" from the ctp tileset page I linked to at n.w. vault there.

But the elven interior still has to be placed way on top of all other haks, including the elven exterior one underneath. Otherwise there is a missing fence door in the elven interior.
This combination has worked out fine together, and also works with the
CEP 2.4 too..... as far as I can see.

I'm not sure if there are any overrides without the nwn 1.69 compatibility though.
But it has worked out quite fine for now anyway.
So I'm a happy bunny for now. '<img'>
