3ds Max scaling
« on: June 27, 2012, 12:19:45 pm »

I've used NWMax to import the one and only Bioware signpost as a first stage in building a few alternatives.  I made a new post 3m high but it is dwarfed by the original whose "object properties" give it's height as 8.637m!  In the toolset the original is half again as tall as a human NPC so perhaps 3m maximum.

I'm confuddled '', is the scaling always this odd? any thoughts?

With doors being 3m high and 2m wide, I'm not surprised that signposts are almost 9m high '<img'>.

Could be a couple different things:

1) You scaled it then exported it without using the reset x-form option before export.
2) Your units are not setup correctly.  System units should be in metric, centimeters.
3) You possibly used something other than NWMax to export.

Did you use OldMansBeard CM3 on the exported mdl file?  That can typical correct for some of those types of issues.

it is the original that claims to be that high, it dwarfs the 3m post I made.

The scale cant be true. Wallsections of interior tielsets are 3 or 3,3m.

I'm going to start again, from scratch, before my players get very lost. Though I could carry a ladder, or a telescope.  It just seemed easier to start from the existing one as all the assorted NwN widgets were in place.  The price of laziness!
