Variety is the Spice
« on: February 28, 2012, 12:58:04 am »

So, I made 12 models, three parts of 4 different varieties of my Tessen.

'Image

This is the beginning of my baseitems line...
220     6776    Exotic   2     2    0x1C030   0   2   WSpTe         0                1             1             1             it_bag          iWSpTe

The models show up in Explorer Reborn. But the only one that shows up in the toolset is 011 '<img'>

All that work. What am I missing? ':?'

Make sure your min range and max range are set.

Also, make sure you have an inventory icon for every single part you want to show up.  No icon = no using that model.

Here's the circuitous logic behind how the three part items are scanned as they're read into the toolset.  This is from a developer, probably Georg Zoeller or Don Moar:

To determine what colors are available for each of the b, m, and t portions of a composite item, do the following steps. Scan for icons, incrementing the <number> from the baseitems.2da MinRange to MaxRange, and find first icon file that exists. Check the color code in the icon's resref (the last digit). This is the minimum available color. Increment the <number> from there until another icon is found that has the same color. Recall what color the icon was before that. That color is the maximum available color.

To determine what shapes are available, scan for TGA icons from <number> = (MinRange + minimum color) to <number> = MaxRange, incrementing by 10 each time. If an icon exists, then assume that all the MDL file exists as well, and also assume that the shape variant exists in all the other colors as well. For example, suppose that the minimum color found earlier was 2, the maximum color was 4, MinRange = 10, and MaxRange = 100. The icon scan would check for 012, 022, 032, ... 092. If 082 exists, for example, then assume that 083 and 084 also exist.

Search for bits of that quote in the Omnibus and there's a really sweet thread with lots more discussion including some easier to understand interpretations of what all that means.  I'd be surprised if that or something similar wasn't described in Eligio's CCG.

The big purple guy hit the target first '<img'>

But the dude with the tinny voice has a better explaination.'^_^'

After stomping my foot, pounding on the keyboard, whining to the BF and saying UH! a lot, I decided to do some chores... Icons. I hate icons <>

And... Hey! My variants are there!

Anyway, the supermodel thing still isn't working. Set the m_011 variant as the supermodel and removed the anims for the others... and they don't even show up in Explorer Reborn!

Excuse me? ''

So that's why all 5 variants have full anims '<img'>

Oh, @ CtSneaky Feller: Did that, but thanks :-) Good tip.

Uh... bye!

I'd have to agree. If there's 15 different colors of something, I tend to want all of them for the server.

On this topic even a spoonful of something the blue guy cooks up is preferable to a big bowl of my copypasta al dente.  ''  Oh I know most of the recipes by heart but he's got a lot more flour on his apron, heh heh!
