You know... ipads? phones? screen size less than 4 inches? No thanks. I am currently running on a 24 inch widescreen... unfortunately it maxes out at 1920 width, but I can NOT see myself being able to actually SEE anything on a screen much smaller now.
Playing as an Ant, running around on a screen small enough to fit in my shirt pocket is not my idea of fun.
I unfortunately agree with baba yaga, I don't see this bloodwar tileset ever seeing the light of day, and not very likely to see it even on an ipad or iphone type of app system. The folks that created it, all disappeared from the scene. No word was heard from over 90% of them when they left. A few hung around, and distributed the unfinished works they were allowed to distribute. No other game engine uses tilesets the way NWN does/did, so most of that work would be lost anyway, and with normal mapping etc, becoming the norm for games, full sized areas being created in one shot where you deform a flat plane to make hills/valleys by moving verts, well, tilesets are not needed. They could, potentially, be converted to placeables, but placeable outdoor terrain doesn't make a lot of sense.
The individual groups from that set, MIGHT prove useful, but without the full terrain system, it just doesn't make sense to even bother converting to some new system. Your time would be better spent just re-creating it new in whatever environment the game engine you choose allows you to do.
I know I have been doing some playing in Skyrim, which is an amazing game, Bethesda went all out with this one. I do think that the folks that chose specific textures need their heads examined, but overall the game is pretty amazing. They made use of placeable buildings, cave sections etc, and were able to stitch things together fairly well. I can't wait until the updated toolset is available to see what I can accomplish with that environment.
