CompDComp
« on: June 18, 2011, 03:59:07 am »

               Interesting problem I just found.

I'm using the gui version of CompDComp that's been on my desktop for years to compile/decompile clothing models.  It's really just a GUI for Torlak's compiler.

The problem is today it didn't work.  The gui loads, and it sees files in the INPUT Directory, but when I go to and use compile or decompile... nothing output.

This is my desktop which is running win 7 64 bit pro.  A week ago, I installed Windows updates which included security updates for C++.  Apparently the front end was written with C++ (according to readme).

Now I have a laptop, less powerful, but the exact same operating system. I haven't installed that Security update, so I copied the whole folder, lock stock and barrel over to the laptop, fire up the GUI, and boom, models compile and decompile.

Don't know if anything can be done or not, or if it's worth it to do so.  I'm not sure if this affects the nwnmdlcomp.exe, it will bear a bit of testing.

I believe 3DS Max does the same thing with mdl's right? Why don't check it by compiling/de-compiling from the software? You could also use Carottes GUI.

CompDComp is an MFC application.....
