               I have begun a new project page - NWN Miscellany.

This project is a collection of various tips, techniques, and tutorials for the CC creator. It is complied from various authors in the NWN Community and is intended to serve as a repository of hard to find, useful information.

Some of the things you'll find:

Game Configuration
Custom Content Essential Tools
Bannor Bloodfist's Tileset Window Illumination Tutorial
Estelindis' UVW Mapping Tutorial
...and much more (over 50 pages of material).

This is a living document that is constantly changing as new information becomes available. I have attempted to be as accurate as possible, but make no guarantees as to the specific accuracy of any information contained within. I invite the Community to correct, submit, and/or ammend information as necessary. I may even convert this over to a Wiki if enough people are interested.

The file that is available for download was written with Microsoft Word 2007.

               I don't see any files to download in the project pages, files or otherwise.



Anyways that's a super good idea Pstemarie, a long overdue one. Can't wait to have a look at it =)

               Found the issue - I only had the file visible to group members (why the heck is that the default setting??)....

               I just took a quick look at this, and just wanted to express my enthusiasm for the project. I can't begin to express how useful a resource like this will be to folks like me who need a good reference to help pick up CC creation skills. Nothing on shadows. However, I am currently putting together some information on that subject that I've discovered through my own experiences and the experiences of people I've worked with. The problem with shadows is that the issues are as varied as the models themselves - as are the solutions.

Most often I've found that shadow issues stem from the engine trying to render a shadow geometry that is too complex. In many cases the issue is as simple as creating a non-rendering "shadow-box" that occupies the same space as the object with the corrupt shadow, but has a far simpler geometry. In other cases the solution lay in splitting the object into smaller pieces; and in still others it lay in reducing the overall geometry of the object.

This being said - what your issue? I've got some time to fiddle...

               ...Why do I always have to deal with the most complex of issues?... I mean, seriously, what are the odds that a single guy has so many problems with THE ONLY game he actually cares for, and all of them so weird and hard to crack that they incite suicidal tendencies as well as a defeatist attitude? Sigh...

Sorry. Actually if you could read the Shadow Fix thread right here in the Custom Content forums, you would have an idea of what I mean. Thanks for answering, Pstemarie! (who now I know is definitely not a girl... oh, c'mon! I'm mexican!... whenever I see a "marie" attached to a name I assume it is a girl! No one can blame me for being linguisticaly-challenged! Right? RIGHT? 'course I'm right...) <><>
