Resizing a pool of creatures technique
« on: November 07, 2010, 11:38:06 am »

               Hello everybody !
I'm back on NWN modeling for some times, and I would like to know if there is a way (a program, a nwnmax plugin, or a technique) to resize a bunch of 20 creatures without having to edit each creature in gmax and rescale everything. (from body parts to emiters.)

I remember there was something possible with an external plugin for clothes, but I don't know if it works with creatures ?

Thanks in advance !

The 1.69 patch added "Invisible" creature models of various scales ranging from 10%-200% of the original size. Just pick the size you want and set the tail to the creature you want to scale.

If you have the CEP 2.3 you can check out the CEP Creature Wizard scripts to see how you can scale creatures in-game instead of just in the toolset. (Scripts and conversation all start with zep_cw_*).

Hum, that's an idea, So all I got to do is to edit the tails.2da and add the lines of my creatures as tails, and use the proper invisible model ?

I'll give it a try, although it means to modify all the scripts I've already used for my creatures. (the scripts are based on the appearance.2da. But, it might be much easier than opening each model one by one.

Thanks !

Hey Goudeao, nice to see you around again =)

Like 420 said you now can choose directly to change the size of most creatures by choosing a "rescaling" appearance in tails appearance. These are pre-defined rescaling if you will. You don't need to modify 2das etc. You probably can do that dynamically by script too (never tried though).

Welcome back, and see ya =)

               Hello Jez !

Thanks for your answer.

As far as I know, as I am working with custom creatures, I still need to add those creatures to the tail.2da file.

I'll try that solution, and I'll tell you.

Nice to see you too. '<img'>
