CEP Blueprint problems
« on: October 07, 2010, 12:31:24 am »

               Greets

I finally got the CEP updater to work properly (previous attempt it had downloaded 200meg before I gave up). Anyway, I decided to take the plunge and use it in an area pre-fab I am building. As part of this I wanted some rubble. This is when I found the problem. On the custom/miscellaneous menu everything from rope bundle onwards is screwed up. There is no appearance type for rope bundle itself and most of what follows appears as large rugs in the toolset. As I don't know which specific appearance type belongs to which blueprint, I decided to ask for help here.

Apart from a single tileset (which isi the last item on the hak list) I only have the CEP in the module.

List the haks in order from top to bottom. Also check your hak folder itself. You could have one or more CEP haks not updated properly. Look for any that end in ".hak.update". Delete and rerun the updater if any are found.

OK here is the list of all the haks I've used in my module.

cep2_top_v23

cep2_custom

cep2_add_phenos5

cep2_add_phenos4

cep2_add_phenos3

cep2_add_phenos2

cep2_add_phenos1

cep2_add_tiles2

cep2_add_tiles1

cep2_add_tiles

cep2_ext_tiles

cep2_add_doors

cep2_add_skies

cep2_add_rules

cep2_add_loads

cep2_core6

cep2_core5

cep2_core4

cep2_core3

cep2_core2

cep2_core1

cep2_core0

cep2_crp

cep2_add_sb_v1

cep2_crp_s

cep2_build

completerc

The last one being the tileset. Being last it shouldn't affect the placeables blueprints. The tlk file is

cep23_v1

I've checked my hak folder and there are no "stuck update" files there. On a side note I found these CEP2 files and wondered which are now redundant and can be safely deleted.

cep2_add_races_A.hak

cep2_patch_v22b.hak

cep2_patch_v22c.hak

cep2_race.hak

cep2_top_v1.hak

cep2_top_v21.hak

cep2_top_v22.hak

The following were also in my hak folder, can they go?

cep2_bluept_v1.erf

cep2_scripts_v1.erf

Put the two erf files into your Erf folder (or delete them). Any CEP2.0 haks you can keep in your hak folder incase you need them for a PW or a module you download one day.

cep2_add_tiles is a CEP 2.0 hak .... remove it.

Your TLK file is fine.

My suggested Hak order:

cep2_custom (This is for serverside only haks like Base Item 2da editted to change stack sizes, remove if not used for such)

cep2_top_v23

cep2_add_phenos5

cep2_add_phenos4

cep2_add_phenos3

cep2_add_phenos2

cep2_add_phenos1

cep2_add_loads

cep2_add_rules (remove, this is for future rules only ... IE new PrCs or spells ... and is just a placeholder for now)

cep2_add_skies

cep2_add_doors

cep2_ext_tiles (remove unless you plan on importing and updating old areas made with the standard bioware tilesets, but shouldn't hurt if left in)

cep2_add_tiles2

cep2_add_tiles1

cep2_add_sb_v1 (If you're not going to use the premade cEP Creatures and their scripts, remove this hak)

cep2_build (This just adds premade placeables. Most would decline including it or at least remove it once building is finished)

cep2_core6

cep2_core5

cep2_core4

cep2_core3

cep2_core2

cep2_core1

cep2_core0

cep2_crp

cep2_crp_s (If you're not using the C.R.A.P. stuff ... remove this hak)

completerc (I use this hak as well as a few others with no issues)

Thanks for that. I selectively removed some files from the list and I can see a definite speed improvement. Quote cep2_add_tiles is a CEP 2.0 hak .... remove it. I only included this in my original list because the updater checks it.

Unfortunately I still have the blueprint problem that I mentioned in my original post. In the Placeables/custom/miscellaneous section the appearance type of the blueprints from rope bundle to ruins wall chunk are incorrect. The rope bundle has no appearance type and the first ruins column has the torture: stocks 3 appearance type. All of the other blueprints have some type of carpet for their appearance type, each one being different.

Try refreshing all of your pallettes, then saving and rechecking them. If that fails, try making a new module with the hak order I posted.

Errrm, sorry. It's red-face time at my end. I wasn't quite sure what you meant by refreshing the pallettes so I completely removed the CEP from the module. It was then I discovered something I hadn't been aware of. It would appear that the completerc tileset has a small number of placeables within the hak and it was these that were showing up in the blueprints with the wrong appearance type. I now know to ignore these entries.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Not a waste of time. So long as someone has learned something. '<img'>

BTW, there are several versions of "completerc" on the vault. Have you tried this one?

http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=7494

Of all of them, it's the version I prefer the best and the last update I know of. It also doesn't add any placeables.
