Extra Light Distances?
« on: August 23, 2010, 01:02:05 am »

Just out of curiocity, are there any haks (or anything) which allow you to get an extended array of light property distances for items, and possibly even an extended array of colours? E.G. A sword which produces fifty meters of cyan light? I did do several searches on the vault, but I didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Sorry, the light properties, and even the (corresponding?) VFX_DUR_LIGHT_* entries in visualeffects.2da are hardcoded.

You could add new "dummy" light sub-properties (see iprp_lightcost.2da and iprp_color.2da), and have nwscript apply a custom VFX/emitter model when creatures equip items with those properties. That'd be kludgy though, and it may or may not be possible to achieve the same effect as the hardcoded light effects using emitters.

Hmm, it's as I secretly thought then (I don't need the light that badly; it was more of a curiocity experiment), seeing that you didn't have it in your extended item properties hak either. Well, thankyou at least for telling me.
