At last! It’s finished at last! I have been working on this (on and off) for the past month. So what is it? This archive contains the majority of the fan fiction that is currently available on this site. “So what?” you ask. Well, the short version, I’ve extracted the text and converted them into three different file formats – docx, pdf and epub. “Why?” you may well ask. So that you can easily read them on modern devices – tablets and ebook readers. Also so that you can easily print them out in a properly formatted version.

 

So what precisely have I done with each one? I have examined each one and corrected the textual glitches that are present in a large number of the original works. These glitches take the form of replacing a number of punctuation characters with one or more uncommon characters. After that I imported the text into Word 2007. I then formatted the text where necessary, for a better presentation in this new format. After that I ran the spelling/grammar check. Where possible I left any speech by the characters in the stories untouched. I then saved the text in docx format and converted it to pdf. Finally I imported the text in Sigil, removed the large amount of redundant lines and inserted chapter breaks in those texts that required them.

 

In those cases where stories were split over two or more web pages, I have combined them into single documents. Finally I have inserted page numbers for all docx and pdf documents that have more than two pages and a table of contents in those larger documents that the original author had included chapter/part information for.

 

The contents of this archive are organised into three categories - Poetry, Stories and Other. Within both Stories and Poetry they are further organised into separate folders for each author.

 

I have sought and obtained permission, from those authors that I know are still around, to release their works in these formats. So far one author is conspicuous by their absence. This is because they have not chosen to respond to my messages. If you are an author of any work That I have included in this and have not been contacted by me and you wish your work removed please pm me.

               Great work TR, thanks for all the hard work and time spent saving the Fan Fiction material. The eBook versions look great and now I have quite a bit of reading material to keep me busy.

I have now got approval from the author formerly known as Chaos_Theocrat to include their work in this. Their nine stories that were scattered across the vault have been processed like all the previous stuff and placed into a separate archive, so you don't have to re-download the original collection. It is on the same vault page so the link at the end of my previous post will take you to them.
