Add-on installation question.
« on: August 24, 2015, 05:29:56 am »

I want to play Saleron's Gambit. One of the files that apparently are needed is tbh_swamp1b5a.zip, which contains a folder with a whole bunch of files with extensions like wok, mdl, set, and some more. The only folder inside the nwn folder in which I found those extensions is the override folder. Is that where I should put these files? The file is described as a tileset add-on. I ask before putting them there because undoing that would be very difficult as those files would be lost among the many many other files already in that folder.

This information is surprisingly difficult to find. I guess that it is assumed that we already know.

Yes, that is the folder you want to put those files into.

If you would like to have the ability to undo this at a later time, copy and rename your current override folder before adding the new files.

Thats weird, Im author of this addon and this is not the way of how it should be used. In fact, in override it won't be functional at all.

This was intented for a hak makers, builder is expected to take tbh swamp haks and put these files inside this hak, save as new hak and give it to the players.

Player isnt expected to work with tileset addons at all.

I agree that is weird, as I have played Saleron's Gambit in the past and do not remember it requiring anything other than normal hakpaks. It could be the version on the new vault got some of the source material for the haks added in with the haks themselves somehow.

No wonder there were no instructions how to install it. So, I need to restore the back-up of the override folder without those files?

Yes, you should not need to have anything in the override, just hak and music files (and the modules themselves of course).
