Seeking Advice on a Critting Scythe Dragon Disciple (PW competitive)

I understand the appeal of putting 25 levels into Bard, but at that point you're better off nixing the RDD levels altogether, and then forgoing the scythe and grabbing a scimitar... But then we're talking about a completely different build, now aren't we? Because in order to achieve that 25 bard song you'd need 75 ranks in perform... Pretty nuts.

The advantage of the 16B/14F/10RDD Scythe build is an INSANELY high damage output with bard song to compensate for a lack of shield and curse song to guarantee hits on crits. Going any further into Bard makes it into a party-buff-focused build. Perhaps it would bring more to the party, but it's a completely different role.

I'm not sure why you think you're better off nixxing the RDD levels.  You're gaining 4 AC, 2 con, and 8 strength for 10 levels of investment -- which is far better than another 10 levels of Fighter.  You're better off forgoing the scythe period no matter what, why do you suddenly want to drop it thought?

And you'll have something like 50 or so base perform.  Find something like Epic Gloves of Performing or whatever -- only need another 25 Perform total, less if you pick up Perform related feats.

Have you actually mapped it out to see what feats you'd be unable to take with less fighter levels or are you just assuming that?

I havent read what others said. Basically 8/10/22 is bad idea, it works with Dwarven Defender, but not with WM. Ofc its playable but its not good, the only thing you get from WM levels is AB, which you get much more if you level bard instead and you get many buffs.

I would build this as 23bard 10rdd 7wm to get WM multiplier and threat, lasting inspiration and 23lvl of bard which means +5ac and -5ac for enemies ie. +5ab uncapped, +12 to all skills, much more skill poits all bard spells.

Of course throw scythe and pick scimitar+shield. It will still be a bit feat starved, but otherwise it will be on par with any other bard20+/rdd10 combo. The advantage of this build is very high devastating critical DC and 10-20 critical threat range. But its playable even in worlds withou devastating or with many creeps immune to critical/devastating.
