               <spinning...>

Cultivating the pathways of gratitude always yields greater joy in the long run :-)
OTOH, keeping the goal of improving things always in mind (as we do) does constantly move this community forward.
Both Nwn1 & 2 have improved (are improving) immensely, and there's some major things in the works.
It's just not going to happen quickly :-P
Er, "patience young grasshopper" =)
(Edit: or get out of the car and help push ;-)

               Problem why nwn by default looks so dated is simply the bad design by bioware. The textures and models are just bad... take the "hands" as an example and then move on to the terrible city exterior tileset, the weapons with their "not textured" at all etc. I can count endless things that are horrible now to look at. Even custom halflife map designers at that time made the bio guys look like amateurs...

Anyway we can do graphically everything we want except having good shadows or an appropriate exterior lighting. But that aside with patience and love for the details we know what codi was able to create back in 2006 or even earlier. Somehow their style and knowledge got lost but we´re definately on the right track since a good amount of time and nwn never looked so good imo... to bad not in every section... bodyparts/ armory comes to mind. But tilesets, placeables, creatures, the ccc stuff and the new weapons by AD are all worth to call everything together a nwn 1.9+ or so '<img'>

               It won't last forever but for the time being it's the best tool we've got. Small but devoted community > large but useless one. I wish I'd been around to release modules in the glory days, though...

Actually I rather like the idea of putting together an unofficial patch with the sole purpose of improving the graphics. I don't really worry about graphics. NWN's default graphics don't really bother me that much (except the orcs... bleah) but I also realize that most people disagree. If someone could mesh all the graphical improvements (textures, reskins, improved models, roofs, etc) into one download it would actually help the game keep going for a while longer.
