Basically, all the Conventional Wisdomâ„¢ (some of which I also subscribed to) about what Hasbro/WotC & Atari would allow turned out to be incorrect.

Corporations can and do change policy especially when the pain points can't be ignored any longer.  A certain ruleset revision wasn't the roaring success that was predicted, so sure, I can see them making certain concessions to pump up the balance sheet while they scramble to recover.

I still remain skeptical that any NWN refresh will serve the PW niche or give us any deep control over the mechanics.

Seems like they got Hasbro to agree to let them use 2nd Ed. rules. *blinks* ok, maybe pigs do fly.

^This.  I swear I heard a pig whistle, you know (reference to the German phrase *winks*)

I keep thinking that he has some big Russians in his office - making an offer that one cannot refuse...hehe.

And I am with PlasmaJohn here - no BG3 aka NWN refresh!  I want both, dammit!  Give me BG3 in isometric (you know you want it!) AND NWNee!  3D!!

I WANT IT ALL!  I WANT IT ALL!  AND I WANT IT NOW!!!*

*Thanks, Freddie!

No, it is not really 3D - there is no Z-Axis.

Not that I expect NWNee to be real 3D.  Just expanded upon.

The local paper here ran an article on the upcoming release of it on monday, that's been picked up by a few other sources on the net since.  The original article for it is here.

Curious to see how this would stack up against the breadth and polish of BGT-Weidu or BP...

The team at Overhaul is doing an AMA ('ask me anything') over on Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/z1af7/we_are_overhaul_games_the_team_behind_baldurs/

It looks like they're still answering questions.  Might be near the end now but might be worth a shot if anyone is interested asking them about current or future (NWN) projects.
