So after lots of research on how to alter the number of spell slots per level a wizard gets, I found out you can just edit the file CLS_SPGN_WIZ.2da and put it in the override folder. However that file did not exist anywhere in my nwn files so I actually had to make it from scratch using the specs in the nwn wiki (if anyone else is trying to do this and wants me to explain it, say so and I'll post what I did). To my great surprise... it WORKED! I am now able to completely control the number of spell slots a wizard gets per level. However, upon reaching level 15 (level 8 rogue, 7 wizard) I found that my games wouldn't load anymore. So I tested and tested until I determined that it was the number of spells I had memorized (not the number of spell slots available!) which caused the saved game to be unloadable. So I then sat down and started counting exactly how many spells I could memorize safely without killing my saved games and, unsurprisingly, the maximum number of spells you can memorize and still be able to load your saved games is... 255. Of course.

I'm not entirely certain this is the place to post this info but I thought it was woth putting on a board somewhere for those people like me who are inclined to spend hours and hours trying to figure out one little thing.

So in summary:

You can edit (or create, if you have to) the file CLS_SPGN_WIZ.2da to change how many spell slots a wizard gets each level.

While you CAN have as many spell SLOTS as you want, if you memorize more than 255 total spells and then save the game... that saved game will not load.

Hope this helps someone.

Yeah its known issue for us custom content creators. Also there cannot be more than 255 different spells in one spelllist.

The PRC ran into this problem years ago...
