You sure you had negative DEX and it was in clean module without my unofficial patch that fixes it? Im sure it works in vanilla.

EDIT: You see AA needs elf which has +2dex so you start with 10. In order to get negative dex you need something with penalty to dex or start as half-elf.

EDIT2: ok then Ill try again, IIRC i havent tried that in clean module and its highly possible that they have rewritten spell script not to use GetReflexAdjusted function

Yep, tested with a half-elf with dex 9.  Further when testing I found the bug really had nothing to do with feats (see my last comment on NWN wiki talk page for Difficulty class).  When GetReflexAdjustedDamage()  is used then MySavingThrow() is not used, and it is MySavingThrow() capping the DC at 255 that causes the DC to loop to 127.

The fact a modification is not a fix is something pertaining to definitions and basic logic

The fact a modification might be desirable is a totally unrelated subject to identifying and recongnizing its nature.

Unfortunately, I think your Community Patch "suffers" from the same phobia that afflicted mine and Cervantes Nwn Enhanced - the minute you modify dialog.tlk (or any other resources that if modified incorrectly can break the game) you lose half the potential users to paranoia. I suppose some people think we just crank this stuff out and don't test it 'Image

However, I do sort of agree with what another poster stated about such heavy modifications being "your" modifications. In a sense he's right, any such modifications are OUR interpretation of the game and its rules; but that doesn't mean you got to beat people up over it. If you don't want to use the Community Patch (nice work by the way) or other rulesets such as Nwn Enhanced, then simply don't. But please, don't berate the creators for desiring to share something with others. Its a lot more than the majority of the NWN Community has ever been willing to do.

Wasn't referring to any project in particular, more to the growing tendency of some folks to slam a project either here or at the Vault for little things such as the name used, who's involved in the design of it, etc. Constructive criticism is great, but what I've been seeing of late leaves a lot to be desired.

               As I said personal preference.  I choose not to use Haks to modify my game.  Sure I might miss out on things, but I'm ok with it.  Not a knock or hate thing with creators.  I just like like to play Vanilla.  I tend to enjoy it that way.  Just like Morrowind I see dozen of modifications done to it to update the graphic engine to modernization.  That all fine and dandy.  I like the original game way it is '<img'>.

               @ Krazy - the problem that creates is missing out on a LOT of things, esp in solo play.

During my solo mod playing days, more and more authors were offering newer fare with Haks to not only improve their ability as designers, but to also aid gameplay. And that was years ago. Finding plain vanilla at this stage will be difficult, and you may miss out on some of the very best stories in the Vault.

It took me a long time to try Haks myself, as I was anxious over possible repairs and gitches. But Haks are not Overrides, and are seperate from other files. I am Techless, and cannot explain it well, but this apparently is much safer, and will expand your library of tales many times over.

This is one of the first mods I tried with a Hak; simple and basic story if you choose to give it a shot:

The point of creating is not to be creating for those who do not want your creation, ShaDoOoW.  Rather, to be creating for the SAKE of creating.  Otherwise, you are bound to be disappointed.

I personally ignore those who do not wish to use my creations.  I also post stuff on the Vault with a pseudonym - so there is no association between my profile here on the boards and there.  That tends to prevent associated feelings from influencing acceptance of said creations, one way or another.

Well said WebShaman. But dont worry, this what is happening at vault/forums wont discourage me from finishing that project (thought it slowed me thats for sure). I just didnt actually expected so much hostility when trying to make something as a new patch, it really confuse me, on the one side everyone here is dreaming about fixes for some issues but when I offer it they dont want it because its not official or because they have some personall issues with me or with the name of the project. I understand some features are a bit controversy (and I removed the implode nerf lately btw) but instead of any discussion, I see only lack of interest. My intends were good so I dont get it.

               It's something of a Catch-22. Your patch (which I've looked at, though maybe not the newest release) has lots of really good stuff in it. But, anything not released by Bioware ends up being thought of as unofficial and nonstandard and that makes people hesitant to use it because people don't want to drift too far from what they think everyone else is playing and don't want to risk something that they worry may not be fully debugged. So, if a big chunk of the community used it, it would become more of a standard (something like the way Tony K's AI is very common), but to be used more, it needs to be the standard.

Obviously, mentioning it when appropriate will help. E.g. when someone says "I'm having problem X." You can say, "That's caused by Y and there is a fix for it on the vault and it's also fixed (along with many other issues) in the community patch."

I think a big help to getting community content (especially stuff that affects game mechanics) accepted is to set it up so that the things that are controversial are installed as options. Tony K's AI is a good example of this. That way people can install it for whatever parts they consider to be "fixes" and then they can experiment with the things they consider "modifications" whenever they like.

               Well, I am using ShaDoOoW's patch, and have not have any problems so far.
