curiosity killed the cat: unsuspecting Player trap
« on: June 20, 2011, 08:44:42 am »

Here is a video example for the "Unsuspecting Players" for your PWs. I scripted this a while back while practicing
module making. The script takes both genders into account.

Watch it here at 1080p or 720p (recommended)

Bringing the Sierra feeling to NWN, eh? ''

Horribly sadistic but funny. To make it even meaner by arousing more curiosity, while at the same time giving a fair hint of the trap, you could replace the default description of the sign or add something to it, in the vein of "The sign is difficult to read from a distance." / "You can't quite make out what's written on it unless you have a closer look." / "The sign is overgrown with moss, making it hard to read but it probably wouldn't take a lot of effort to clean it" etc.

I don't know... what is the Sierra feeling?... Sierra Entertainment?

Yeah, I could have written a more magnetic description for sure, good one on your part.

Glad you liked it 'B)'

Yeah, their adventure games from back in the days are renowned for the 6 million more or less funny ways to die they held in store for the unsuspecting hero. Nearly every screen had such a trap or other lethal peril in it and just like in your demo, after the death a restart window would pop up, containing a mocking necrology about the way you just died.
