Necromancer build?
« on: February 04, 2011, 06:26:16 pm »

If you were to create a Necromancer character, how would you go about doing it?

I had a blast in Diablo 2 with the Necromancer class. I wanted to create Necromancer in Neverwinter.

There is nothing like diablo2 summonner. That mostly because normally previous summon disappear when you summon another. Otherwise a necromancer in nwn/dnd is sometimes called a wizard/sorcerrer that is focused on necromancy spell school. Also in DnD there is a prestige class that is called "True necromancer" and it have also been implemented in PRC (special project that adds many new features and classes into NWN). But without PRC you can only imitate that class. The closest would be wizard/sorcerrer with Pale master prestige class. Also cleric can summon undeads...

Palemaster will give you some awesome summons, but no private army.

Also, for every summon, your xp per kill goes down (unlike D2).  It was such a problem that on some pw, if you summon something, if you dont take it down, they will for you.  Do it again, and you are the one down!  LOL

THe true power of the necro died when D2 patch 1.1 came along.  Before that, I had army of 110 skels and stuff.  After the patch, the exact same character had barely 30  '<img'>  That's when I retired from D2... los basterds  '<img'>
