NwN Diamond noob Question ?

               Does this compilation come with all the game content ? Is there any pre-order bonuses or add-ons that don't come with with it ? also was there a Collector's edition for NwN, and if so what did it come with ?

NWN Diamond comes with the original game (Neverwinter Nights) and all the expansion packs ever created for the game, which are Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark.  It also comes with two of the premium modules, IIRC.  Premium modules were modestly-priced modules which were sold from the old BioWare store years ago and which contained new content.  Eventually BioWare added essentially "all" of the content from those premium modules (monsters, items, tilesets, features) into subsequent patches for the game.

Long, long before that all pre-order bonuses had also been folded into patches to the game so everyone could enjoy the new content.

So, if you install NWN Diamond and the final patch to update your installation to the last version, version 1.69, then you will have "everything".  At least everything official.  Should you grow tired of that, I believe there are almost 6,000 user-created modules on the Neverwinter Vault, uploaded over the last 10 years, not to mention all the custom creatures and items, etc., which were also created by the NWN Community to enhance the game.

Also was there a Collector's edition for NwN, and if so what did it come with?

Premium: Kingmaker, Shadowguard, Witch's Wake

               Diamond Edition is all you need unless you want to shell the extra $ for the collectors stuff, who knows maybe NWN will be come a collectors items. (So don't open it!)  

Once you have Diamond edition you more or less need to update to 1.69 (the final update) and get CEP v2.2 first, then install CEP v2.3 (in that order).  This will ensure you have all the missing 2.2 content that wasn't included in 2.3..

Finally, after you have your game all set up, check out the nwvault.ign.com good place to get other cool stuff.

You need do nothing extra to play the campaigns (OC, SoU & HotU), premiums and a great amount of community-made content.  Just jump in and start playing! '>   Once you begin visiting many Persistent Worlds, the needs will be defined for you.  Most PWs have websites that explain precisely what enhancements are needed and how to install them.

As you get indoctrinated into playing NWN and gain some familiarity, at that point you can better decide which utilities and mods may enhance your gaming experience the way you prefer.  Also, should you ever find any oddities or gliches of the game, it will become more easily evident which customization may have caused the conflict.  It is always a good practice to experience the vanilla game "as is" for comparison's sake, IMO.  The NWN Wiki (link included within the referenced sticky, following) is the best source for the game so you can ignore the error-strewn PDF manuals that came with the game and use that.  The wiki information is based on unenhanced (i.e. "vanilla") NWN gameplay.

All that said, I would recommend applying the Critical Rebuild v1.69 patch to hit the ground running (if you haven't done so already, that is).
