NWN Diamond install for Linux Sound/Video problems
« on: March 07, 2016, 01:18:49 am »

Hello,

I just reinstalled NWN on my Debian Linux system.

I found instructions located at:

http://ubuntuforums....62#post12377262

The install works fine, though I do not have sound.

I googled the problem & found most fixed the problem with changing the nwn file in the main directory. The line is typically altered:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib:./miles:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

to the new line:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./miles:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

This, ofc, requires install of various files, including the referenced at Step 1 of the Ubuntu thread.

The fix corrected the sound issues, though that offsets my video to the left some number of pixels(200 or so).

If I comment the new line & use the old line in the nwn file, the program runs fine, though no sound.

I am using an NVIDIA GeForce GT610 Video Card & typical Debian/Ubuntu NVIDIA drivers.

My problem is not readily documented. Any helps would be appreciated!

Cheers!

(P.S. I am as well looking for a FR Development Team to work with. I have moderate building skills with the toolset. I worked on a couple of development teams years ago. I could probably pick up NWN scripting skills with ease. I am returning to NWN & I am looking for a community to participate in. )
