About a month or so ago, roadrunner shut down their services or something else happened. That doesn't matter. What matters is that a webpage hosted a few packages that fixed functionality in running that game natively on Linux. It was used in many a tutorial from years ago up until today. It appears that it was not mirrored anywhere else. So its sudden disappearance is a bit of a concern for having a good experience running NWN on Linux. There are three files needed, and I have managed to score one of them (nwmovies-latest.tar.gz).
The two files missing are:
nwlinux-beta.tar.bz2
md5: 3961f7464d3d5b7ac9f097aa9aa2f4d3
cursors.tar.gz
md5: 7be935418f0ececb5660f53b7a902b38
The website that no longer exists is:
http://home.roadrunner.com/~nwmovies
You can see how they fit in to an Arch AUR package here: https://aur.archlinu...ckages/nwn-gog/
I and a few others have tried to find those packages all over the net.
Things we know:
1) There is a wayback machine copy of the site from some years ago - the versions on there are much older than the ones we now depend on. The md5sums are a good indicator if these are the right files.
2) There is a torrent floating around with a Linux version that includes the nwmovies-latest.tar.gz file - that's where we found the 1/3 files needed.
So, the question is ultimately: Does anyone happen to have an archive of these files sitting on a hard drive somewhere? You're our only hope.
