So, I don't know what's causing this. It has been around since I installed NWN on my only working computer.

That's interesting. GUI loads up fine, graphically as does (apparently) the player character and at least one placeable.  What kind of video card do you have in that computer and are the drivers up to date?  I'm not so great a fixing problems like this (I've never seen this before) but I'm curious.  My instinctive first response is to get the critical rebuild of 1.69 and install that, but that might just be a wild goose chase.

It may be a bit "overkill" to download this (it's 150 megs), but if nobody can cough up an answer, you might try searching there.

I tried the critical rebuild. My graphics card is Intel® HD Grapics. My drivers are up to date too.

Similar problem.

using VMWare Player. Windows XP guest on an Ubuntu 12.04 host.

The textures which show as white seem to be HAK textures. Some textures as you can see do show up. I tried some HAKless modules and the textures came through - albeit at very low quality.
