missing file? cant install neverwinter
« on: January 16, 2013, 02:37:31 pm »

               greetings everyone;

ive looked around and im not sure if  this is the right place to post these sort of monotonous questions, but ill keep it breif.

i attempted to install pkpeachykeen NWShader. it installs ok, and followed its directions to the letter (that is to say what was given to me). However, when i attempt to engage (IE: play) neverwinter i get an error that reads:

"The program cant start because EasyHook32.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

unfortunatly for me windows does not give a very specific reason why this is, so after TWO (2) reinstalls i still get the error (and well after completly removing the NWShader from my folder).

im not sure where this file went, or if it can be retrieved in any way.

has anyone experienced this issue before? and does anyone know how i can fix this?

               Off the top of my head, I think your nwmain.exe might have been modified.  Rename your current nwmain.exe to something else and see if you don't have a file called nwmain.bak or something like that in your nwn dir.  Rename that to nwmain.exe and try launching that.  If you really cleaned out all the NWShader stuff, I think that's the only thing left that could bite you.

i do thank you for pointing me in the right direction OTR, this was a problem i always had with the nwshader since it first came out.

i think ill skip it for now and backup my files like i should have to begin with lol
