Crafting is not working???

               Hi there,

I'm one of the DM's for one of the Persistent Worlds still fully functioning for NWN1

We fairly recently updated our servers to run on Windows 7 and installed a copy of the Diamond Edition of Neverwinter Nights/SoU/HoTU.

Ever since the new installation crafting has not worked.

We have tried installing the 1.69 Critical Update, but that has not fixed the problem.

Crafting works perfectly in the modules on my own XP system at home, which was installed from the PC Gamer Deluxe Edittion, and then updated with the 1.69 Critical Update.

This points to it being a system-specific problem.

Can anyone shed any light???

               So you have the PW module on your XP system at home and it works fine but when you log into the PW server that is hosted elsewhere on a Windows 7 machine, it does not work?

               What kind of crafting are you talking about ?  The built in NWN crafting. or a custom system?  

If it is a custom system.  Does it use a DB or 2da files for the crafting? you may have forgotten to move them along with the server.  

Did you install the game into the programs folder?  I have heard that that can cause problems.  Not sure if this is one of them or not.

               To answer you both:-

Yes the PW module works fine on my XP system at home, but when I log into the PW server crafting is nerfed.

The crafting we're talking about is the basic NWN crafting system - apart from a couple of Forges which are working fine, we have yet to implement a custom crafting system, although we have discussed the possibilty.

I will ask the guy that did the installation about the programs folder thing.

               The server is running under D:\\NeverwinterNights\\NWN. That it's running on the D: drive instead of C: is the only variation. I have even made the server *think* it's running on the C: drive in an attempt to fix it, with no luck. All the configuration files are correct for the drive it's running on (or thinks it's running on).
